Deposit Terms
-
Placing A Deposit. A $300 deposit sent by PayPal holds your puppy selection spot. The remainder of puppy purchase price is due in cash at time of pickup. Deposits are placed to hold your spot in the picking order, not to hold a specific puppy. For example: the first deposit received gets 1st place pick, second deposit gets 2nd pick and so on.
-
If you are placing your deposit prior to the litter being born, note that we cannot guarantee the number of puppies that will be available. Your deposit will become an “Alternate Deposit”, if a small litter is born.
-
Deposits cannot be placed with any color requirements.
-
While we ask you for your gender preference, we do not require you to adhere to your choice and you are free to change your mind if a puppy of a different gender seems to be a better fit.
-
-
Deposit Refunds. If for some reason, you do not find a puppy in the litter you love (on puppy picking day), or if your Alternate Deposit is never activated for a litter, you can choose to have your deposit transferred onto a future litter or refunded.
-
Changing life circumstances, finding a puppy from another source, or any other reason does not authorize a refund of your deposit.
-
Active deposits can only be refunded if you arrive in person on puppy picking day and do not find a puppy that meets your needs.
-
-
Deposit Transfers. You may opt to transfer your active or alternate deposit to a future litter at any time. However, please understand the below stipulations fully and consult with us prior to making a transfer decision.
-
If you opt to transfer your deposit to a future litter, you maintain the current "seniority" of your deposit and this does not guarantee you a higher picking position on the next litter. EXAMPLE: John has the 5th selection spot on the current litter, shortly after the puppies are born he opts to transfer onto the next litter. Sarah has the 2nd selection spot and waits until the puppies at 8 weeks old to decide to transfer her deposit. For the upcoming litter Sarah will have the 1st selection spot and John will have the 2nd selection spot.
-
We may have long standing held-over deposits or be planning on keeping a puppy from a future litter. Such situations may result in a transferred deposit having a less favorable position in picking order.
-
We do not guarantee our future breeding plans, we may plan to skip a litter or a female may not get pregnant as planned.
-
-
Alternate Deposits. Alternate Deposits are those that are next in line should an Active Deposit family opt to drop out of a litter. On average, we activate 1-2 alternates per litter cycle but have in the past activated as many as 7 alternates for one litter.
-
An Alternate Deposit can be activated at any time during the litter reservation cycle, up to and including Puppy Selection Day when the puppies are 8 weeks old.
-
All families holding an Alternate Deposit spot should prepare and plan on their deposit being activated so they are not caught off guard.
-
Several things could happen to your alternate deposit in the course of a litter reservation cycle. We could have several active deposits transfer out and you could move up high on the list. We could have only one person transfer out and you could end up with the last pick of the litter. We could have no one transfer out and your deposit goes un activated. Because of this variability, only those families who would be happy with any puppy from our litter should place an alternate deposit.
-
After puppy selection day, if an Alternate Deposit goes un-activated, that person then has the first chance to transfer that deposit to the next litter, prior to deposits being opened to the general public.
-
Alternate deposits ARE NOT meant to be a method to "jump the line" for our next litter. If your alternate deposit is activated you will be required to show up in person (at your assigned appointment time) to evaluate the litter you placed your deposit on. If you do not, your deposit will be forfeited. We have had issues with line jumping in the past and want this to be explicitly clear, we have enacted these policies in order to be the most fair to everyone.
-
-
First Pick of Litter. We reserve the first pick of every litter. This practice grants us the necessary flexibility to continually enhance and expand our breeding endeavors. While it is infrequent for us to keep a puppy for ourselves, it remains crucial that we retain this option. However, in cases where we choose to relinquish our right to the first pick puppy, we commit to informing all families who have placed deposits on the litter. Transparently, we will communicate our plans for allocating the first pick. In such instances, we reserve the right to determine the most equitable method for selecting the recipient of the first pick, ensuring fairness and consideration for all families involved.
-
First Right of Refusal. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of a pup or dog for ANY reason at ANY time and refund the deposit if we don't feel it will be in the best interests of the animal. We don't want to hurt peoples' feelings, however we are the only voice our dogs have in choosing the right home for them.
-
Buyer Requirements. At Frying Pan Ranch, we believe bringing a new dog into your home is a big responsibility, but we trust our buyers know this also. For this reason, will NOT require you to fill out a questionnaire, turn in references, or enter a co-contract to purchase a puppy. We do NOT require a spay/neuter agreement and we release all breeding rights to the buyer with any puppy sold. Although not every puppy in a litter is destined to be breeding quality, we maintain it is the owners obligation and right to determine if their animal should, or should not, be bred.
-
Puppy Selection. Puppies are selected by their new families and taken home on the designated puppy pickup day for the litter. This date will be selected shortly after the puppies are born and will occur once the puppies are 8 weeks old. Each family is given an assigned appointment time and a full hour to pick out their puppy. Family members, friends (both furry and non-furry) are welcome to come make their pick. Video calls can be accommodated if prior arrangement has been made.
-
We DO NOT ALLOW selecting your puppy based on color or appearance alone. We encourage our puppy families to pay close attention to the personality/nature of the puppy they are choosing, not merely the color of its coat. If at any point we feel you are basing your puppy selection based on appearance, we will decline to allow you to adopt any of our puppies.
