Paisley

Roper's Paisley

Paisley was the kind of Aussie who makes people fall in love with the breed. She was sweet, loving and loyal but also exceptionally smart. I never had to train Paisley to do a thing, she just anticipated what I wanted and learned to do it. Paisley was the start to our breeding program because so many people fell in love with her and literally begged us for years to breed her.  Paisley lived to a ripe old age of 15, and will be forever missed.

You can see some of her pups are featured on our testimonial page. We have also retained her son, Rooney,  and grandson Decker at Frying Pan Ranch for future use in our breeding program.

Quincy

Double U Quincy
(RETIRED)

Quincy is beautifully built with a quirky personality!  Conformationally she has beautiful straight lines, an awesome head,  stocky build and a thick glossy coat. She has a strong protective instinct and is a bit of a goofball, but once she bonds with someone she loves to jump into their arms for a hug. She is exceptionally athletic, graceful on the move and can jump high and run fast! We have decided to retire Quincy from breeding but her legacy will live on in her son, Decker.

Rooney Retired

Frying Pan Ranch Rooney
(RETIRED)

Rooney is a jokester who loves to play but is gentle and loving with his puppies. We bred Rooney ourselves and he is a good example of the type of Aussie we like to breed.

He is a bigger boned, well muscled, sturdy dog with great balance and coloring. He has both copper and white trim

and white marble in his eyes.

He loves attention and is a very easy going, but intelligent dog. He would be happy sleeping on the couch, but he also loves working cattle and is our head working dog on the ranch. He has thrown flashy puppies of all color types, many with blue or marbled eyes.

Rooney is very well know around our parts for his impressive 40mile journey home to the ranch after he escaped from the local groomer.

He made the cover of The Fence Post: HERE

He also made the Denver News: HERE

We have decided to retire Rooney from breeding and he now gets to focus on what he loves most, working cattle on the ranch. His genetic influence will live on in all of his offspring including his son, Decker.

Double U Brumby
(RETIRED)

InTheWomb_Prod_Still-16.jpg
Brumby is our most famous dog, as she is the star of the National Geographic series "In The Womb: Animal Babies"  which is currently streaming on Disney+. She has been a very laid back and affectionate dog since puppyhood. She is a smaller framed Aussie with moderate bone. Brumby is rather "low energy" for an Aussie, but she does know how to turn it on when there is a job to be done. She loves to cuddle but has taken very well to ranch work and herding. She is a full time work partner to our male, Rooney.

Brumby is now fully retired from ranch work and living her best life with a lovely retired couple in Wyoming!

Brumby

Frying Pan Ranch King George

George was very smart, obedient and an excellent herding dog. He was very patient with both people and other animals, loved attention and was great with kids. He had a stocky build and full thick coat. He loved to take an active roll in the puppy parenting process and it was not unusual to see him taking a group of pups exploring around the ranch. He was definitely a tuff guy too,  he had no problem trailing cattle on a 15mile drive, didn't shy away from an aggressive bull and we had seen him fight a badger on more than one occasion.  He was the a great balance between a ranch dog and a family dog; the perfect Aussie! He will always be missed, but his influence lives on at FPR though his son, Rooney, and grandson Decker
